(Note regarding the map link: Their address does not appear to show the correct spot. Instead I used the address of a nearby restaurant in the same plaza. I'm not trying to send you to a different place.)

Another new place. This one opened near the end of October, 2011. This has the same name as a restaurant downtown and the two are linked by the owners being in the same family.

Viet Thai

312 Bank Street

A relatively new place closer to downtown. It's on Bank just a little south of Somerset. They offer dine-in and takeout.

As the name suggests, they have Vietnamese and Thai dishes

Prices are typical for the area.

Map (to be done)

This is not a new place, but an expansion of the New Pho Bo Ga LA restaurant, which is next door. They share a kitchen.

The LA Lounge has two menus. One of them is the same as next door New Pho Bo Ga LA, and the other menu is more upscale and reflects the decor and appeal of a bar and lounge.

Prices on the upscale menu are slightly higher than the regular menu. Spring rolls are $5. Pho is $8 for a medium and $10 for a large.

This is the former location of the Thu Do restaurant.

This new restaurant is in the multi-unit strip mall on the south-west corner of Innes Road and Lanthier Drive, at the edge of the Loblaws parking lot. They are opened for lunch and dinner. There is also take-out, although their menu is online only. Their website has a few nice pictures, and there is an interesting link to a table of allergens in their various dishes.

website

A new restaurant, opened Friday, March 18, 2011, in the location where Pho Mi 108 used to be. The signage has not yet been changed as of the date of this entry.

They're open 11AM to 9PM every day except Mondays when they're closed at 4PM.

The menu says they specialise in Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese soup. They do serve pho and Vietnamese spring rolls. The menu in the restaurant lists many more pho varieties than the takeout menu, so be sure to ask if you don't see your favourite.

Their website has not been finished as of the date of this entry, so details from there are non existent.

Pho Thu Do

781 Somerset Street W

Website

Thu Do moved from their old location at 765 Somerset to this new place at 781 Somerset. There used to be another restaurant at this location calld Mee Xim, which no longer exists as far as I know. The move happened about the beginning of 2011. The reason is that the old building got a new landlord and the landlord didn't want to upgrade the kitchen, so they decided to move to a more modern place.

They now have an online menu on their website and you can see that it has expanded from before. Prices remain similar or slightly higher than before.

There are also comments and reviews from our thoughts on Pho Thu Do from years ago.

Co Cham

A Vietnamese place that I'm not sure how to enter the accented characters to spell correctly.

It's a small place that serves pho, hu tieu, and Vietnamese submarines. That's a first for Ottawa, to my knowledge, to serve pho and submarines in the same place.

Pho and hu tieu is $7.00 and only comes in one size. Deep fried spring rolls are $3.25, and sub sandwiches are $2.25 each. Bun is also available.

Their hours are 10:30AM to 9PM except on Sunday when they close at 7PM. And they are CLOSED MONDAYS.

This is an Asian place that includes pho on the menu, although they just call it "noodle soup". Their other dishes are sushi, bubble tea and other drinks, and appetisers including spring rolls.

Pho comes in two sizes. Regular sizes range from $7.50 to $9.00, and large sizes cost $1 more. Spring rolls are either $3 or $4 for two rolls. Bubble tea and other drinks range from $3.50 to $4.00.

Pho Bo Ga King

A new entry in the Pho Bo Ga "chain" that's been open since last year.

Open daily 10AM to 1AM, and Friday and Saturday until 4AM.

The menu is similar to others in that they have pho, Bun, Hu Tieu, Com, appetisers and drinks.

Pho comes in 4 sizes. Smalls are $6, Mediums are $7, Larges are $8 and XLs are $9.

This is right in the heart of Chinatown so parking is very hit and miss.
